We make using our Humidipak products and technology easy—even if it’s for the first time. You can complete our Request Information Form or Contact Us directly to receive detailed information. In addition, the following provides a quick overview of topics to consider. If you have the answers to these questions, you can include them right in the Request Information Form, if you don’t have the answers now, no problem, we’ll work with you quickly and quietly to match your needs to the appropriate product.

First, when we embark on a new application of this technology, a number of factors and product requirements are considered, which either we, or the customer, must generate. Knowing this, we can determine which RH formulation can be used.

1. The optimal water activity (Aw) or moisture-content level of the product being protected 2. The physical weight and volume of the product being protected
The products Aw will help us determine the optimal relative humidity for the package or container. A moisture isotherm test will determine the precise level of relative humidity for the product you’d like to protect. The weight and physical volume of the product and size of container has a direct bearing on the proper size Humidipak to use. The Humidipak can be engineered to provide solutions for both microenvironments and bulk shipping applications.
3. The product’s tolerance to moisture gain or loss 4. The shelf life desired
Different products have different levels of tolerance when it comes to moisture gain or loss. Humidipak has a variety of films capable of meeting an array of needs. For extremely sensitive products, films that have a higher water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) can be used. The length of time you need moisture control protection will dictate how much available water/absorption we include for your application.
5. The outer package barrier of the product being protected 6. The area of the world the product will be exposed to
The water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) of the overwrap or outer package barrier will tell us how much moisture might be lost through the package. Knowing this will help us in determining how much water to make available in the Humidipak, given your desired shelf life. Product that may be exposed to just one extreme or the other (desert climates or tropical humid climates) may need more available water or a greater capacity to absorb moisture. Knowing if your product will be subject to one extreme or the other helps us to determine the correct water/absorption capabilities.
7. The automated machinery or packaging process you use
The Humidipak can be manufactured in many different shapes, sizes, and physical strengths in order to best fit your unique packaging needs. We’ll need to know any special requirements you have for fulfillment so we can recommend a solution that is most efficient for your current process. In most cases, the Humidipak can be inserted utilizing automated machinery.

When we have identified these data points, our staff is then in a position to develop a product that can potentially solve some very significant and long-term moisture problems that have been obstacles for years.

If you know the answers to the above questions, please complete and submit our Request Information Form or Contact Us directly to receive detailed information to be sure of a successful start.
